According to the American Heritage Dictionary an investor is a person willing to commit their money or capital in order to gain a financial return. At the same time they also say an entrepreneur is a person who organizes, operates, and assumes the risk for a business venture.
As much as I would like to say I am in the first group the fact of the matter is I fit into the second group - I am an entrepreneur although very new to the field.
