As the divorce rate in the US increases so does the number of children who are put into the situation of having a single parents and the people (boyfriends or girlfriends) parents bring into their lives. A really cute but also touching book for children that deals with single parents and their relationships is “Totally Uncool” by Janice Levy.

On February 1, 2011 the snow started falling in Jackson, Michigan. For several days before the National Weather Service had predicted Michigan along with many other states would be hit by the worst blizzard in history. Several reports compared the coming 2011 blizzard to the blizzard of 1967. In my personal opinion, having experienced both of these blizzards there was no comparison.

Each short story is color coded so two each read certain parts of the story and then some parts they read together. The National Weather Service has already issued a ‘Severe Weather Bulletin’ for the Lansing and Jackson are along with a large portion of the Nation. As of 3:44 a.m. EST Tuesday February 1st the Michigan counties of Barry, Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Gratiot, Ingham, Ionia and Jackson are under a BLIZZARD WARNING. Although we have only received a light dusting of snow around 7:00 p.m. conditions are predicted to produce as much as 2-3 inches of snow per hour and continuing through Thursday.
